I have 7th Cavalry & Cheyenne ancestors on both side of that issue. I was told by Sioux & Cheyenne Historians/Tribal Lawyers etc. that Meotzi's first child Yellow Bird(male)was the son of George Bent. I was told that Meotzi's(Southern Cheyenne-Arapaho) second child was a daughter that Meotzi made sure got into Government Indian Boarding school after WOUNDED KNEE and the hand-writing was on the wall for the Plains Native American cultures.

GAC's & Meotzi's Daughter(Richel) upon graduation from boarding school-enculturation as 'quazi-white' was given the 'American name' of Richel(pronounced RICHELLE) Thompson who eventually married the High School teacher/principal Marion Lee Zook @ Bismarck, North Dakota. Richel Zook(nee Thompson NEE CUSTER) had 18 children in 18 years who all survived to live long and prosperous lives. Richel was a remarkably stedfast woman who was the strength of her family and a pillar of her community in Bismarck-ND.

Richel's oldest daughter was Bess Zook-Meleo and her Youngest daughter was Martha Zook-Dawson(wife of Ray Dawson who was first man in Bismarck history to turn the Black-Smith shop into the first Machine shop and who moved to Nevada as an engineer on the Hoover Dam Project.

Martha & Ray Dawson's 1st Daughter Patricia was born in Norman-OK who married Jim Kelly(owner of Kelly's Shell Stations of Las Vegas, NV) and their 2nd Daughter Elizabeth(Buff) married Capt. George R. Henthorn USAF who was one of WW-II's and Korea's most decorated B-25 pilots of N-Africa/Italy/& Germany including the Fire-Bombing of Dresden & later in Korea flying B-29s @ MIG ALLEY KOREA 1950-51.

Notably Patricia Kelly's(nee Dawson) and Jim Kelly's second son Chris Kelly LDS has always been the 'spitting image' of GAC tall & athletic but with MUCH more grace & humility than has often been ascribed to his famous ancestor. Chris Kelly is an MBA(straight-A's @ BYU) and Basketball coach who has always been a very well thought of member of his community.

Chris's Dad, Jim Kelly was a decorated Marine Officer of the arduous Island hopping combat operations against Imperial Japan of WW-II and George R. Henthorn survived to be an architect and home builder @ Santa Teresa-New Mexico(El Paso TX suburb) Lee Trevino Country Club. George R. Henthorn now lies interred in Arlington National Cemetary.
