In the 8/11 CWT issue there is a photo error on page 55 of William Marvel's " THE BOY GENERALS!". THE upper left photo IS NOT William Kirby!. Kirby, a West Point classmate of George Custer (USMA 1861), was an artillery lieutenant badly wounded at Chancellorsville in May 1863!. He was shippped home, to Connecticutt, dying of wounds soon after. To ensure his widowed mother received adequate "death" benefits,; Congress brevetted Kirby as a brigadier general(U.S.V.). The award was posthumous, thus NO PHOTO of Kirby, as a general exists! Kirby's photo is in Warner's GENERALS IN BLUE(1957) , and CLASS OF 1861 (USMC). Please correct this photo error; and correctly identify the mis-identified soldier!

Thank you; Russ Kane, P.A.-C
