Read "That dark and bloody river" by Alan W. Eckert. He covers Tecumsehs life fully. He tells how Tecumseh's brother got to big for his britches and realy set the plans way back.

Gen. Brock, was killed at Queenston Heights, cooperated with Tecumseh, althought they only met a few times I believe.

I agree theat he went a long way toward establishing the begininnigs of a confederacy, however his brother was the "public face" to the Native Americans more than he was, however he was definately the power behind the movement.

It would have been interesting to see what happened to US_Native American relations if he had lived, curious how he and Andrew Jackson would have dealt with each other.

I would agree with Mr. Van der Velden, with the understanding that his brother, "the prophet" both helped and utlimatly hurt the chance for the confederation by unwisely attaking Harrison at Tippecanoe

Tecumseh, of the Shawnee. If the British general who was friendly to him hadn't so inconveniently died, he could have created a Native Confederacy that would have spanned most of the West. Canada and the US wouldn't have made it east of Indiana, Ohio, or Ontario.

I am interested in learning more about Native American activists of the 20th Century. After losing so much, Native Americans have used the law to preserve what they have and earn back what loses they can recoup.
