I guess I'm one of the few to be the last to know of his passing away. What a terrible loss; we were the best of friends throughout grade school, junior high and high school as well as his early career in the Marines. I have so many stories I could tell of our early childhood and young adulthood that from time to time I think of to this day. I too visited his father in the hospital; how ironic that both he and his father suffered with the same medical ailment.

Many of you might not know that Rocco always wanted to be a Marine. His uncle was a marine in world war II and he would wear some of his uniforms when we would play solider around the neighborhood. It was his destiny after all be be a hero and a medal of honor winner. I'll miss him!

Would deeply appreciate any documentation of Rocco Valluzzi many medals. Rocco and I were college chemistry majors at St. Francis College, Brooklyn and neighbors, as well as, fraternity brothers during our four years in college. Am deeply saddened by the loss of Rocco...we are coming up on a our 50th anniversary of college graduation and were looking for class mates. The loss of Rocco has hit very hard and a remember going to the hospital with him when his father was sick with a brain tumor during our senior year....how sad to learn that Rocco suffered with similar situation....how painful.... Please provide any and all information on his numerous military awards. The last time we met was in 1968 and he was going back to the Nam and I was getting ready for possible deployment.
