Sorry for such a late reply I have not been on this site for awhile, I remenber working at a end of the ramp, but I never flew as a gunner. I was at CCK from 1971 to 1973 I ran with John Dukowski and Steve Dallman. Was at UT when An Loc was happening, we were on that metal ramp away from the main B-52 sheet metal shop. I'm sorry but I don't think I'm the person you are thinking of, anyway welcome home friend.

Jim,

I was also stationed at CCK in the sheetmetal shop during this time but was TDY'd to UT during this time. I believe we knew each other. Do you remember the White House that we worked out of at the end of the runway. I believe you and I flew into into Cambodia as door gunners and we used to do it for the hostile fire pay. I was stationed at CCK from March to November 1973. the base was closed and everyone went to the Phillipians. I and two others from the Sheetmetal shop decided to go to Thialand instead. Are you the person I am thinking of as being there during this time?

Any of this ring a bell?

Thanks
John

Dave, Iwas in the 345th at this time. I talked to you after the incident at An Loc. Charlie Shaub gave me a checkride after he healed up.Sad to hear Charley passed away a while back. You know I actually cried when Iheard of his death. Remember him drinking those Bloody Mary's in the club on Sunday mornings. Do you remember any guys like Mike Pollack, Z- Zigoda,Bob Williams, girls called him Boboo,Mike Williams, Al Bertagnolli, boy my mind is fading. I was a L/M on a Capt. Wayne Milner's crew for some time then a Capt. Moore's crew. Hope to hear from you. Wayne. Remember a chubby blond haired L/M in your squadron but don't remember his name. Think the girls called him shau-go.

Just read your post....I was the secondary loadmaster on Bill Caldwells plane. After all this time, those events seem like yesterday, but happened in another lifetime.
