Hello! My grandfather served within the 93rd Bomb Group and flew on B-24 Liberator Bomber (Miss Chief) along side Bob Heller. I have currently put together a page on facebook for the 93rd bombardment group. Please feel free to look around and add to it. He is 95 years old and served the 93rd Bomber Group and the 328th Bomb Squadron from Sep. 1942 to June 1945. I am looking for information on my father, Lawrence (Larry) D. Coffman, who flew with the 93rd Bomb Group, 328th Bomb Squad in WWII. Also was in the Air Force in the Korean War — was in Okinawa in 1952. Any information would be greatly appreciated, e.g., name(s) of planes, missions flown, personal recollections, etc.

My dad was a pilot 1944-45. Stationed at Hardwick in England. 35 combat missions. Name of plane Obit-u-airy Mary.

I had an uncle who was waist gunner of B-24 Double Trouble shot down over Tunisia in January 1943. All crew members were killed except Bombider and Navigatior who were imprisoned until after the war. Had talked with Navigator prior to his death. Their crew was in the 1st contingent sent to England from U.S. Would be interested in communicating with any other families with relatives having served in the 93rd 328th during this time.

I do. That was my Dad's plane. It was shot down over Germany and they were all imprisoned in Staalag Luft III.

My Father was Paul Bata, He had several brothers who also served.. He was with 329Squadron 93rd Bombardment. he flew 27 missions starting 8/19/43 and the last 4/19/44. I would love to get some information on the missions that you Dad flew, compare notes. I really want any information I can find. I have a list of his missions, signed by Leland G. Fiegel and what looks like George Bylam Jr. ( this signature is bad) shows Sq Commander.
1st mission was over France, Lille France.
