My grandfather, Ozro Wiswell, was involved in this project. I grew up never knowing about this, but was always facinated with all of the slides and film my grandfather had of all these bats in the living room closet, Id look at them for hours. I remember Jack Couffer visiting my grandparents apparently for permissions involving the book. I thought it was funny how there is awhole chapter about my grandmother Viola. It is a very good book, should be made into a movie.

I think it's astonishing what our military was actually capable of in the late 1940's. After reading the title of the article you would think it's modern day. By the end of the development the U.S. was actually able to use bats to bomb things with 15 to 18 grams of external weight. It may seem a little inhumane, but it was a great advancement in military weaponry and technology. They never used this tactic in battle, but it just goes to show how advanced we were even back in the 1940’s.
