charge of the investigation.  The initial fire on board Normandie came
from an acetylene torch that ignited insulation between the bulkhead
and another compartment.  The &quot;fire boats&quot; pumped so much water 
into the hull that she rolled over.  This was in my father&#039;s report to the Navy.</description>
