The stupid generals took over and did not know how to run the country. The result was the American force was kicked ass by North Vietnam. Be smart to stay away from other country affair. If you want to help if them aids, but let them do what is good for them. Don't think you are smarter than others President Diem wanted US financial support, not American men.
