Lt. Royal Ingersoll, who was killed by friendly fire, was killed on the Hornet, not on the Yorktown. It was the Hornet that sustained damage when the 50 calibur machine gun accidently went off, killing Lt. Ingersoll and a few others.

Dear Mister Horne, Just a wonderful article on the crucial battle of Midway. Through articles like these you and other historians make certain that we never forget the incredible acts of heroism our soldiers displayed in WWII , such as Lieut. Commander John C. Waldron, and the damage control teams aboard the Yorktown , and Lieut. Commander Wade McClusky's attack on Kaga, Akagi, and Soryu. I have one question, what were the sources you used to let us know that the Japanesse Military Command never told the Japenese people of the defeat, never told them of any defeats, and actually segregated the injured soldiers of the Battle of Midway from thier families and rest of the Japanese people.
