I second what Tony said. You're crazy wrong about the movie and crazy wrong about the War of Northern Aggression. You can take that from a northerner (accident of birth). The issue is trashing a superb movie because of a narrow point of view.

TH, not making a blanket statement about about actual historical persons. I did make a statement about the movie, which I beleive was cheesey and in line with the Southern Aologist phenomenon that started around the turn of the 19th century.

As far as zipping it, I am sorry, but no. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it as much as you are entitled to yours. Regarldess, I have no intention of getting in a flame war with you, so I will not be responding to any further posts by you. I wish you well, God bless.

@Godot: zip the lip on the "southern apologist" stuff, and zip it *tight.* I am no fan of slavery or states rights, but we *cannot* issue blanket condemnations on the honorable people like Tom Jackson, Bobby Lee, etc. who refused to make war on their home state because they truly loved them more than anything else. And kudos to Ron Maxwell for having the guts to depict the past as it was, not like how mainstream Hollywood does.

"now available on DVD and Blu-Ray..."

It should be pointed out that the only way to get this on DVD is to buy the entire "Limited Collector's Edition Package" which is between $40-$70. It does not come in a single edition like the blu-ray.

GREAT interview!

Love to hear Ron's insights on the films and the Wah. My wife got me the Director's Cut set for Christmas. I was there in July at the premiere and WB did a fabulous job, as did Ron chatting with all his fans!

Cannot wait for Copperhead.
