I’m not sure why we don’t want to be fair and confess Surena was a great commander. He was a warfare genius at his time. On the other hand, I’m not surprised by the lack of fairness toward persians since the main sources of history for this period are either Greek or Roman. I personally think the importance of the battle of Carrhae in ancient history is comparable to the battles of Thermopylae or Marathon. I'm also amazed by Surena’s intelligence. There should be more non biased research on Persian Empire.

goal of Crassus it was that like Alexsander conquer Iran and expand The Roman Empire to India . but he and Romans Underestimated Parthians. Carrhae Battle is very important in history because with this battle Syncope Spread of Romans to East. before this battle any power could not stand in front of Roman's power in East .Parthians and Successors of them Sassanians( that more Aggressive than Parthians) were the great walls in front of for arrive to east lands that romans never could not break it . after this battle other battels that happend between Iranians and Romans with Attrition battles. but Romans never did not arrive to thier dream

There were a number factors that led to the defeat of the Roman legions

Crassus and his son were extremely overconfident that their legion would easily defeat the Parthians

Crassus failed to analyze his opponents way of fighting

Crassus drove his legions to march through the desserts for days running short f supplies and overextending the legions

Death and decapitation of his son was the overwhelming blow to Crassus and his legion.

Some historians are of the opinion that Crassus was not murdered. As he was being escorted to Surena's camp for the signing of truce, there was a skirmish between a group og his Roman guards and the Parthians escorting Crassus. He was killed during this skirmish and never reached Surena's Camp alive. This seems more reasonable since Surena would certainly want to negotiate the surrender of some Roman land, goods or money as restitution for the war that was forced on the Parthians. Besides, nothing in the Partians history would suggest that their commanders would murder unarmed captured enemy commanders.

acording to Roman historins.....in the battle of Carrhae:

Parthian had just 9,000 soldiers(most hoursman archers) and 1000 cataphracts
but Romans had more than 40,000 soldiers..(35,000 legionaries,4,000 cavalry,4,000 light infantry)

resault was decisive Parthian victory

casualties and losses of Parthians was reported very light........ but Romans had more than 20,000 dead and more than 4,000 wounded

more than 10,000 roman was captured by Parthians and removed to Iranshahr(same,Persia).
