I found your page quite by accident, I to was in blackhorse
may to june 69 with Aco 2/3 199th. Don't remember much, I was
there 2-3 weeks before being wounded in the head while
walking point, didn't realize ther were that many NVA in the area.
We weren"t told much.
I was paralyzed by the shot ,face down and not wanting to
close my eyes,it might have been the last time. I remember
thinking I didn't want to die in this hellhole, also thought of
my mom.
Rounds were hitting all around me. he was trying to finish me.
Someone grabbed my feet pulling me back then while
bandaging my head I heard someone say he's dead, half his
head is gone. Didn't want to hear that.
The last thing I remeber of Vietnam was someone cutting my
boots off in the hospital then wakingup in Japan.
