This US warplane made its first test flight in 1952.
The B-52 "Stratofortress" made a 40-minute flight from Boeing Field near Seattle, Washington, to land at Larson Air Force Base at Moses Lake, Washington. Capable of flying at altitudes up to 50,000 feet, the workhorse of the U.S. Strategic Air Command is believed to be capable of upgrades that will allow it to continue in service beyond 2040.
