    Churchill's second book was River War, written about his experiences as a lancer in the Sudan war. The enemy was the Sudanese natives whose bravery fighting against the technologic superiority of the British was captured and romanticized by Rudyard Kipling in the poem " Fuzzy Wuzzy ".
