Cartoon character, the giant-sized duck Baby Huey. The versatile HU-1 (Helicopter, Utility), nicknamed Huey, saw extensive use in Vietnam. Several variants got their own nicknames. Transports were Slicks, gunships were Guns or Cobras but those with rockets were Frogs or Hogs, and medevac variants were often called Dustoffs. Officially re-designated the UH-1 in 1962, the nickname Huey stuck.
