Johann Fust. A merchant and moneylender, Fust loaned Gutenberg the money that allowed him to create his printing press and print a copy of the Bible in 1455. Fust called in the loan, and Gutenberg had to turn over the press, type and copies of the printed Bible to his erstwhile benefactor.
