Future revolutionary Che Guevara made many of his formative observations as a young man from a motorcycle. As a 24-year-old he took a 4,000-mile moped trip alone through northern Argentina and in the next two years traveled throughout South America on a 500cc motorcycle nicknamed "La Poderosa? (The Powerful One). On these trips he directly observed the lives of workers and peasants and ultimately changed the direction of his life. Che Guevara was born on June 14, 1928 to an aristocratic family in Argentina. He was captured and executed by the Bolivian army on October 8, 1967.
