		<description>The description of Christy as a &quot;ruthless, cold blooded killer&quot; is not recognized by present day Cherokees.  In fact he was well liked and respected.  He was considered then and now as an honorable man.

I believe that much of this reputation grew out of embarassament of the authorities of the day in the fact that they could not catch him.</description>
