F-22 Air Dominance Fighter, Digital Image Design, San Jose, Calif., $49.95.

The avalanche of Lockheed F-22 simulators continues, and reaches an attractive apex with F-22 Air Dominance Fighter. The graphics in this package are among the best I’ve seen to date, but users need a fast computer. The minimum system requirement is a Pentium 133, though testing shows that best results require a Pentium 200 or faster machine.

Training missions, a convincing virtual battlefield, an excellent mission planner and fine documentation will keep PC pilots happy for months. Coming from the same development team that built EF2000, this simulation features the polish and maturity users would expect.

Another simulation based on an aircraft that has yet to see service, F-22 Air Dominance Fighter offers a taste of contemporary military operations. Users with slower systems might want to stick with Novalogic’s F-22 simulation or perhaps Joint Strike Fighter, from Eidos, but those with enough horsepower on their desktops will find F-22 ADF as complete and well-constructed as they come.
