My Dad, Sgt. William Scruggs, fought in the same battle and claimed Red Cloud saved his life by holding off the enemy just long enough for them to escape and regroup. He told of being among those who recovered Red Cloud's body, still wrapped around the tree, with more than 100 dead Chinese just feet away.

I was with the 51st Signal Bn, 1951-53. I Corp Radio. I am looking for anyone who served with the 51st Signal Bn. We are have a reunion on June 24-27-2009, Ft. My uncle, Frederick Balboni, was killed in action in Korea on 5 Nov. 1950. He received The Distinquished Service Cross.He was a member of E company, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. I believe he was killed in the same battle with Mitchell Red Cloud who recieved The Medal OF Honor

I was assigned to duty in Korea from 1969-1970. The base i was stationed on was called Camp Red Cloud.
