What would you do if you discovered that your neighbor was not the decorated veteran he had long claimed to be?

As a Vietnam Veteran I waould be obligated to report him/her to the FBI.

That’s easy. His name would be reported on the http://www.reportstolenvalor.org website. Does this kind of thing really happen? Yes! A good friend of mine is stationed in Iraq. His battalion’s Command Sergeant Major was caught wearing unearned awards and badges. As hard as that is to believe it really does happen.

Not sure what I would do actually. I suppose it depends on the circumstance and demeanor of the person claiming such things. If he was claiming to be a hero of some type and using those claims to further a cause or personal ambitions…I'd more than likely report it. If he was just some poor dumb slob trying to sound bigger than he really is at the local bar…I'd just write it off as such and look upon the guy as someone who is rather pathetic. My experience is that the ones who are true heroes rarely speak about such things…the braggarts who proclaim how great they were…well…that's really is in bad taste.
