I'm watching the movie Ben Hur, based on the novel of the same name written by Lew Wallace. I wonder how the otherwise very enlightening article on Wallace's Civil War career did not also mention his novel of events surrounding the life of Christ. Apparently Wallace had not been a religious man (although clearly a man of honor, conviction and action) until challenged by another sceptic to write a story that would debunk the \Jesus Myth.\ As Wallace studied the material including the New Testament, he became a convinced Christian and wrote what we know as Ben Hur instead.
