If you look for racial bigotry you are sure to find it, just as you will find anything else you give your attention to. Bigots come in ALL COLORS and from all parts of the globe. In 2011 the race argument has worn very thin. Before you go around condemning an entire community and looking for a bigot hiding behind every tree, check yourself first. What are you projecting out in your thoughts of the people around you? I guarantee that what comes back to you will be a perfect match. You can act as if that is not the case but I am here to tell you(as man of color) that I have traveled America and even in the deep south did i not come across such backward and ignorant people all living in denial about why people of color don't live next door. I imagine the German people must have had that same level of apathetic nimby wanting fear creating bill o`rielly ass delusions. If I could go back in time and stop collin furgeson I would direct him to levittown because I can promise him that if he shoots adults randomly he will kill nothing but bigots. And that feeling that I hope I was articulate in explaining comes from having moved to Levittown thinking that my children and I were simply american citizens. Your statement of "currently less than 1% of the population is black" is a bit misleading, It may be true for African American but not when you put other ethnic groups that census puts as non-white. Hispanics, Asians, people of Middle Eastern heritage and mixed race are all represented with friendships and associations being, as is school, being based on interests and values, rather than ethnic identity. Sports kids hang with sports kids and the musician/arts kids hang with each other and the science /math kids are together or with one of the other groups when that is their thing, etc.,etc. as has always been.
