When I was a little boy of eight in 1953, I had a large tumor removed from my side in St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Father Joe Devlin was at Brophy College Prep at the time and he also served as hospital chaplain. He became as a father to me for the twenty-one days I was in hospital. He is a saint now and he was a saint then. Everywhere he went, he brought the light.

My last communication with him was in 1962 or 1963.He wrote to me when I was a student at Brophy and offered advice. My great regret is that I did not communicate with him after that, and now it is too late.

I was in Songkhla-Children Center and Woman Center in 1980. Father Joe gave me 20 Baths when I arrived to the camp. What a joy it was to receive this gift, I bought stamps and I wrote a letter to my parent & let them know that I survived. I was in Father Joe's ESL class too. 32 yrs went by, Fr. Joe and Ms. Eve Burton (Director of Woman Center) have had been in my heart, I would never forget and I just want Fr. Joe living relative and Eve Burton to know that sincerely grateful for your beautiful hearts.

I have been looking for Eve Burton every where, Columbia University, read your book. If you get this note, plz contact me at nvdl97@yahoo.com.

I met Father Joe when I was 14 in Thailand in 1980. He was our hope and still is in my heart. I haven't met any angel but if I see one, he would look like Father Joe.

I came to songkla in KG0257 too. There were 600+ people on that boat right? I am looking for someone that I met when the boat was stationed in Rach Gia. I think most of the people on that boat were Chinese Vietnamese. Kiet is my friend's name. That is the only information I have about him.
