Wasn't Steinhoff's major opposition to the Nazi high command little more than his disdain for its growing military incompetence as the Nazis began to lose? If his recommendations had been put in place, resulting in a more effective Nazi-led German Air Force, would they not have served, possibly, to prolong the time it would have taken to defeat the German armed forces, if not turn the tide of the WWII?

Not once does he interject in the interview one word about the horrific mass crimes committed by the Nazis and the German military.

Is competence in the service of a mass criminal enterprise heroism?
