My Freshman year in High School "God Is My Co-Pilot," was required reading in my Geography class of all places. Our instructor had flown bombers into Ploesti and Colonel Scott had been one of his instructors. It was a inspirational book then and it is today too. I have had a copy since high school and read it often. The poor thing is dog eared and yellowed with time, but still has the same allure as it did the first time I read it.

Have owned old yellow copy of "God Is My Co-Pilot" for many years. Usually read it about once a year or so. Love WW II biographies (my Dad was USA infantry in Europe theater). Just found list of Gen. Scott's other books while reading his bio at wikipedia.com. Hope to find some of his later books to buy. Am sorry he, like my Dad and so many other WW II vets, are gone now but their stories are great and will inspire as long as our country exists. March 2012

Col Scott as Comander of Cadets at Willims AFB pinned my wings on me on 25 Feb, 1949. He was liked by everyone, officers, enlisted and Cadet. I thought about his experiences in WW-2
many times but mostkly during my 100 combat missions as a fighter pilot in Korea. He was a very down to earth officer.
