I was reading the book titled \Exploration Fawcett\, The Companion Book Club edition,.published in 1954. by arrangement with the orriginal publishersHutchinson & Co, Ltd.

The description on the fly-leaf is:

Arranged from his manuscripts, letters, log-books and records by Brian Fawcett (P.H.Fawcett's) son.

LT.-COL. P. H. Fawcett, D.S.O., F.R.G.S.

COL Fawcett was an english army officer who between 1903 and 1913 carried out border surveys for the Bolivian Government and later mounted expeditions into the rain forest looking for lost cities; he disapeared on an expedition in the 1920s allong with his eldest son.

A web search will yeild information on P.H.F. and I believe coppies of the book are available at Amozen.

The references in the book are:

Ch4, P64. 1906 at a settlement called Ruranabaque in Bolivia, \a Texas gunman of renown taking refuge.

Ch9, P138.Rurenabaque September 1906. Two paragraphs are given to describing \Harvey the gunman..silent red bearded...who fanned his smith and wesson revolver.

Ch15 P226. Before 1913 at Rurenabague. Mentioned the texan gunman was still there.

Having read the story of the wild bunch in a 1960s book, the ID of logan at the location of his shooting may be suspect.

I have currently been doing research regarding the possibility that other members of \The Wild Bunch\ besides Butch and Sundance went to South America. I found your post fascinating.Would love any info. or sources you have found. Thanks again.

He record meeting a Texan gunman called Harvey in Bolivia at a place called Rurenabaque between 1908 and 1913; could this be Harvey Logan? the descripion given fits.

Mr. Colin Taylor I found it interesting you mentioned a Carrywater girl who had a child from Mr. Logan. The child of Mr. Logan was my Grandfather, Moses Carrywater (born 1988). I am curious where you got your information from or where I can get further information about Harvey and the Carrywater girl. My mother's maiden name Carrywater.

My grandfather, Moses Chandler Logan, was born in Iowa on November 15, 1876 to Jonathan Buchanan Logan and Samantha S. Burdick. He died in Dover, NJ in 1963. I remember my father, Reginald Mason Logan, telling me about when he was a young boy he and his father went to Rawlins to the State of Wyoming pen to see someone his father knew although he did not mention a name. When my father asked the man in jail what he was "in for" his father smacked him and told him it was none of his business. I think my father was ashamed of the possibility of any connections to outlaws or knowledge thereof and never spoke of it again. I am fascinated by this...would like any info to relatives of the above mentioned people. I also have a cousin named Bruce Logan, son of Thomas (Tommy) T. Logan (deceased) from California. Thank you for any help you can be.

I have reason to believe that I am Harvey Logan's grand daughter. As a child I was told that he had escaped the shoot out and reappeared at the Lazy P ranch just outside of Bufurd, CO and began a new life. My father was born very late in Harvey Logan's life.

Is that really Harvey Logan buried there? I have reason to believe that he escaped and resurfaced near Bufurd, CO at the Lazy P ranch and began a new life for himself.

I have reason to believe that I am Harvey Logan's grand daughter. He did not die in the 1904 shootout. He escaped and in twenty years resurfaced and held out at the Lazy P ranch outside of Buford, CO. My father was born in 1933.
