I withdrew during my first year at PMC, mostly because of my perceived academic shortcomings, and enlisted in the Army in order to get a commssion through OCS. After parachute training I volunteered for the Special Forces and was assigned to the JFK Center for Special Warfare. While there I came across several former cadets who had left or graduated from PMC and had volunteered for the army. It is sad to see such a place as PMC disappear, but I'm sure that many a ghost will walk tours on blacktop behind "Old Main."

As another who did not complete his years at PMC but went through the Rook program I fully understand General Zabecki's feelings. Until you stood in a brace and been screamed at by an upper classman you don't understand what it means to be a member of the warrior class that came through the military college system. Like Zabecki I never knew Jack Geohegan but I was at PMC several years after Zabecki and would hear of Jack Geohegan and realize that someday it could be me. I never got my commission but I did serve 12 years as an NCO in the USAF. I was proud of my year at PMC and 2 later years at Valley Forge Military Jr. College. I feel that the discipline they instilled in me enabled me to be a better NCO and the honor system gave me a sense of ethics that todays college student sadly seem to lack. To all who served, we thank you for what you did. For those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, you will never be forgotten.
