I proudly worked on this program, seeing the first flight of the Have Blue proto through Initial Operating Capability (IOC) to the point that the guys moved to Tonapah, with the operational aircraft. They were heady days, and we sacrificed much, and many of our freedoms as American citizens to ensure the security lid stayed on. If you go to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson, the aircraft you will see is tail number 780 and was our first instrumented testbed aircraft. The clearance process and the security were air tight, but submitted to it willingly for our country. I will never forget when I first saw have Blue and then the Senior Trend birds - I too thought - wow star wars is real. Heady days indeed.
