such as the soldier that jumped on a hand grenade save his buddy's life. Comes to mind is Daniel Fernadez from New Mexico( Los Lunas/ Peralta/ Bosque Farms) My Mother in law went to school with him.. He is named after a school and a public park in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She said of him he was a really nice person in real life and it would be like him to have done this. He is a hero and someone to look up to..

Robert Lincoln was present when his father died at the Peterson House in 1865. He was at the train station to meet James Garfield when Garfield was shot and later died as a result. Also, Robert Lincoln was on his way to meet William McKinley when he was also shot and later died of his wounds. After that Robert Lincoln refused to ever meet with another President.

Robert Lincoln had two children, a son and daughter. As I recall none of the children of the son, Abraham Lincoln II survived childhood; the daughter, who's name escapes me never married, and had no children. As an interesting side note, the actor Tom Hanks is a distant relative of Abraham Lincoln. Remember Lincoln's mother maiden name was Hanks.

The last grandson of Robert Lincoln died in the mid 1980's. There are no more living descendents of President Lincoln.
George Washington had no children. He helped raise Martha's children from her first marriage, then her grandchildren. One of those grandchildren was the father-in-law of Robert E Lee.

Here is an interesting fact:
Edwin Booth died on June 7, 1893 and his funeral was June 9. That same date in Washington DC the front part of a government building collapsed killing over 20 government workers and injuring many more. What does that have to do with Edwin Booth? The building was the former (and now again) Ford's Theater.

[...] Historical account is that both men’s lives were darkened by the president’s assassination. Robert’s, because he was not present at the theater to protect his father. Edwin’s, because no theater would have a “Booth” on its stage, innocent or not. Tweet [...]

Historical facts are great. IF they are researched and printed as such.
I don't believe every thing i read and only half what i think i see. As a
kid in school we never were given all the facts about .The history of important black leaders, Inventors,Doctors,Soldiers, American Indians, Chinese, Ect. Discrimination came in all colors except white. As to Rebs comment above. He's wrong about John w. Booth. He was very successful as a actor and very poplar at the time. IF what i have read about him is truth and nothing but the truth. But that is lost in History except for written publications about him.Based on whom's word? This story about his brother saving Lincoln's son's life. I tend to
believe only that he pulled him from a POSSIBLE danger. Had he not
had help getting his feet above the platform. I have seen acts of bravery and i have seen acts of fast action. This was a act of Fast thinking. And it warrants a true feeling of bravery by Lincoln's son as
anyone in his predicament would feel the same. But Bravery in my
opinion is when you are anyone is in Interment danger of losing their
own life in the process of saving yours with out hesitation. Such as the
Soldier that jumps on a hand grenade to save his buddy's life's. This is Bravery.
