In the autumn of 1988, MHQ published its first issue, promising “to be the spearhead for a popular appreciation of military history.” To celebrate our 25th anniversary in our Autumn 2013 issue, we gathered a sampling of some of our favorite MHQ stories from renowned writers and historians. No celebration is complete without presents, so we’re offering the collection as a free PDF. Now website visitors can appreciate the work that goes into designing and illustrating our pages.
