The Romans did not keep their word and committed unbelievable attrocities agains the Iceni. When Boudica fought a guerilla-style war, she succeeded beyond all expectations. On bad advise, on the day of the final battle she took the Roman army on using their own tactics. End of Boudica. But this was a woman of courage, integrity, and who was fiercely protective of her people. May her name ring throughout the ages!

Boudica is legendary and majestic. If you're talking about a woman who's got the guts and the glory, she is. Proves that hell hath no fury than a woman scorned. Rome got its bitter pill from a Queen who won't take no for an answer. Thanks so much for this well-written article.

In the texts of queen boudica i read it often is stated it is unclear why she was so angry. A professor at Portland State UniversityNamed Thomas Morris lectured thusly on her reason for anger: This profeesssor stated that from knight of the land to noble hod carrier peasant came to join her forces against the legions of Rome and that if they sid not have sword to lend to her cause they brought with them pockets full of throwing stones had they no sling they had gathered long the way to hurl at the Legions. These who joined forces with her were enraged at not just the rape of her daughters, but this professor saiid her daughters were subjected to female circumcision and gang raped to death while they bled. THAT's why she was so pissed he said they made her watch
