The comment posted above in this site is spot on in their assesment of Mr. Winik book April 1865 but more than anything Mr. Winiks credibility is destroyed with his many errors; such as the spelling of Nathanael Greene, or that Simon Cameron was his Treasury Secretary or that Salmon Chase was Treasury Secretary at the time of his second inaugural. These obvious errors are very damaging to the book and his over sensationalized and at time sophomoric account of April, 1865.
