Being that B&C’s crime spree covered many states and thousand of miles, no doubt there were many encounters with the local population of the area they were squatting in at that time. Problem is, most did not know who they were at the time or B&C would have been caught much earlier. After their fame and immediate demise, many came out of the woodwork to say they had encountered the infamous gang, and in areas that the gang probably never traveled to.
Like General Sherman’s march, many from the area say, “Sherman burnt my great granddaddy’s barn”, when in fact, documents show Sherman was hundreds of miles away from said location.

I’m skeptical to the “My granddaddy said” testimonials.

Raymond Hamilton kidnapped my Great uncle J.C. Loftice, outside of Weston and kept him for two days because of his fast 34' Ford V8. J.C. was sixteeen at the time, he fetched sandwiches for the group a few times and never gave up his captors. Raymond gave him a 30-06 round and clip as a memento to "not follow a life of crime".

My mother had been bitten by a dog with rabies in Euless, Tx, and she was indoors getting shots from a local doctor. Bonnie and Clyde drove by while my grandfather was waiting outside in the front yard. They stopped to ask him directions as to how to get back to the highway and directions to Grapevine, Texas. They then drove on. He was a humble farmer who was trying to feed his family of four. That was his encounter with the infamous duo.

I would like to say that this story from what I can remeber is quite true. My Grand Mother would tell me of the way it use to be at eastham. My Grand Father Larkin A. Seely worked on the prison farm for many years. He was I belive the one that hunted, with the dogs, the one who was found that night.
