To my father it was an honor to have served for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). He tells me it was even more of an honor to have served face to face in combat with so many "Great Men" like Chesty Puller, George Macgillivray, and Joe Buckley. He thinks it was great Chesty Puller called him “Old Man” all the time. (I am sure I left out hundreds of names of great men he remembers) I know he thought Paul Plyler his machine gun buddy was another "Great Man". He has always told me and "ANYONE" who will listen to this day that the United States Marine Corps (USMC) is the best division the military. Hey, I can tell you my father has seen and done so much in WWII that it would make most of us visit a team of shrinks for years. United States Marine Corps took a boy from West Palm Beach, Florida in 1942 and returned a man. This man whom I am proud to tell anyone and everyone he is my father and a United States Marine that served in WWII. I have been told stories of WWII that most have not had the honor to hear from the Old Jar Head direct. :o) …….. I know am blessed every day my father is here living to tell me any story he has locked up in his "sharp as a tack" mind.
