Axis Propaganda Leaflet for Nazi Germany Translated

4/22/2016 • HistoryNet, Interactive

Leaflets intended to undermine home-front morale were dropped on Germany by the thousands. This one mocks the Nazi adage, “Many Enemies, Much Honor!” by pointing out the long odds against an ultimate Axis victory after the United States joined the war. The “naked facts,” according to the flyer, were that the contest was between seventeen nations with a total population of 1,389 million against seven nations with a total population of 350 million (including 109 million inhabitants of forcibly occupied areas). The Axis powers were also badly outclassed in steel production, in the chemical industries, and especially in oil and gasoline output.
