This was a great article because it gave a detailed account of how epic Murphey's deeds were while still honoring the men he served with. It is really sad to thnk that this guy went through some intense fighting and a plane crash when hes 46 gets him. And one last testament to the awesomness of murphey, in the movie about his exploits, they left parts out so the movie would be more believable.

Murphy was truly a member of our greatest generation. An American hero like so many WW2 vets, but when asked they were just doing their job's. God bless and keep them all...

A special curse has been reserved for anyone who would desecrate this American hero's marker.

I just wanted to tell you that I visited the Murphy Memorial on
Brush Mtn. in Roanke Co., VA and I just enjoyed it. I have been
wanting to do that for a long time. I made picutes of the marker
if you would like them. It was a hard to get to place because
people would damage his marker and they had to block a close
intrance to it.
