<description>Great article. I was there, on the ground and experienced the TET Offensive. I had 65+troops and we weathered the storm with only minimal casualties. Obviously we had no business there to begin with. I was a 22 yr old E-6 with a tremendous amount of responsibility but we prevailed. I learned right away the average So Vietnamese could care less, if we had a Red Star they would have gladly accepted our $$. We took care of a whole village with food and materials for months and then accidentally discovered a maze of tunnels leading to our camp that would have been used for their attack. Our bulldozers leveled the camp, destroyed the tunnels and the entire village people became POW&#039;s. Unfortunately, the powers that have not learned by past mistakes and are repeating in Iraq and Afghanistan the same. Whatever Sect is going to rule and dictate whatever we do. A no win situation.
