I too have a copy of this record. It belonged to my grandmother and as a small boy I used to play it regularly on her old wind-up HMV gramaphone.
It's a great piece of aviation memorbelia and I just wonder how many original copies of this record still survive in tact.

Very interested in the Amy's flying helmet. Was this the one used during her 1930 flight to Australia?

Thank you so much for having this much personal information available about Amy. For the record I think her flying helmet, the scrapbook and sheet music should be donated to a museum. Thank you again.

Amy Johnson was also mentioned in a popular song by Al Stewart, in the song "Flying Sorcery" from his 1979 "Year of The Cat" Album:

With your photographs of Kitty Hawk
and your biplanes on the wall
You were always Amy Johnson
from the time that you were small

No schoolroom kept you grounded
While your thoughts could get away
You were taking off in Tiger Moths
Your wings against the brushstrokes of the day

(refrain)
Are you there?
On the tarmac with the winter in your hair
by the empty hangar doors you stop and stare
Leave the oil drums behind you they won't care
Oh, are you there?

(continues)

The song says it all
