Axis Sally was a sultry voiced American propagandist from the Third Reich, who interspersed enough honest war news along with her propaganda to give her some credibility. Since she played popular American Big Band music and occasionally a beautiful haunting German song--Lili Marlene--we listened to her every night without believing her message. She was really a morale booster for us--certainly not her intention.
