I am glad to here from you. I do remember Sgt Nipp. After Vietnam I went to fort Knox and left the service in July 1970. I'm now living in New York State and retired in Oct 2007. There were plenty of interesting times, including the swimming pool.I'm glad I missed going to Cambodia.

I remember an officer Hodges being with us on a number of Ammo runs to Snoopy , Dottie , & Fat City . I was in the Ammo section at Chu lai from Dec 1968 to Feb 1970 [ wanted an early out . You might remember our Sgt. Nipp from South Dakota [ tall with handle bar mustace . I was on Lz Snoopy that night of May 12th 1969 [ my 21st birthday . I was sleeping between my truck & a large pile of 6X10 " timbers . One of the first mortar rounds landed just on the other side of the lumber [ 6' form me ] . Spent the rest of the night in a fighting bunker firing hundreds of rounds down the steep hill into the village . I remember seeing the very Tall VC [ possiblyChinese ] dead in the wire by the Enginers bunkers. Dave.. [ do write an ansewer

Hey Richard; I was stationed @ LZ Dottie from 12/69 to 12/70, assigned to the artillery as a cook. Worked in mess hall with Sgt Richardson. I guess I served you mess and did not know it. At age 62 now I can hardly remember any names of the guys I served with. I remember Steven Icabellis form New Jersey I guess because we hung out together while there. I remember Sgt Richardson, he was always looking for a poker game. Glad you made it home.
