I think this is partly true

I believe Midway destroyed the Japanese Carrier force, which means Japan will lose the war, but the Japanese was still on the offensive after Midway.

For me the 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal, where USS Washington and Battle for Bismark sea finally checked the Japanese advance on land and together with Midway decided the War in the Allied favour

One or the reasons for Spruance's success was how fit, both mentally and physically, he was. Flecther became so worn out during the battle for Gaudacanal that both he and Robert Ghormley had to be relieved because of they're defeatist attitudes. Halsey was almost relieved by Adm. King after he twice took the 3rd fleet through typhoons. Halsey was probably worn out by this time of the war. I believe that because Spruance delegated work, kept himself fit, was able to look at problems without his ego influencing his decisions that he is a case study on how to command. Only Nelson stands taller.

I give Spruance a world of credit for the victory at Midway, but there should also be a lot of credit given to Frank Jack Fletcher as well. Fletcher would fight, and as has been noted, his planes were the ones responsible for sinking the fourth Japanese carrier.
For reasons I don't understand Fletcher has not received the recognition he deserves for his service.
