“Lincoln and His Generals: LaSalle County at War”
2nd Annual Civil War Commemorative Weekend
April 19-21, 2013
Ottawa, IL


Events will include screenings of PBS special, “The Devil Has His Day”, about Gen. Wm. H. L. Wallace and the Battle of Shiloh; Guided tours of the Dickey-Wallace Cemetery; Medical tent and medical demonstrations; Civil War encampment in historic Washington Square, home of the 1st Lincoln-Douglas debate; Displays of Civil War memorabilia and period clothing; Civil War music; Keynote presentation by noted Civil War author and historian, Rob Girardi.  All events are open to the public; some will be free, others with a minimal fee.  All proceeds will be used for the maintenance and upkeep of the W.H. L. Wallace monument and Dickey family cemetery, where General Wallace is buried.
